A free-to-watch film interview series addressing
the gap in community resources for parents
who want to continue rock climbing.
Through a series of interviews shot on location in Yosemite, New Hampshire, Colorado, and Wyoming with parents who are professional climbers (Beth Rodden, Majka Burhardt, Eddie and Anna Taylor, Jon and Jess Glassberg (Louder than Eleven), and others), we aim to explore the evolution of personal pursuits alongside parenthood.
Between 2023 and 2024, we will be producing free-to-watch episodes designed to serve as a resource for parents and anyone who may feel isolated from their community due to a significant life change. If these athletes who have climbed some of the hardest routes on the planet feel the challenges of caretaking, we can feel better about our own limitations.

Allyson Gunsallus, Director, Producer
In her first few weeks as a new parent, Allyson felt isolated and overwhelmed alongside her feelings of awe at her newborn. She wondered if she would ever get back to climbing, a passion she’s pursued since 2006. When she couldn’t find many realistic resources online, she started this project. Her goal is to create the series she would have liked to have seen in those first few months postpartum. Through leveraging her experience in business, law, and on boards of two notable climbing non-profits, she has lined up interviews with parent athletes to explore the questions that were most critical to her as a new mom.
